Netflix has premiered, renewed, and started shooting new episodes of a hit series in the 3 months since ‘Shadow and Bone’ went dark

It does not make for encouraging reading.

The second run of episodes premiered all the way on March 16, and ever since then fans have been hasn’t offered so much as a shred of hope that the GrishaVerse will return to screens at any point in the near future, if at all.

Things have gotten even more frustrating after The Diplomat may be the most galling of all. The political thriller premiered on April 20, was renewed on May 1, and is already in production on its second season less than two months after first being added to the content library.

If a glossy series with what’s clearly a decent-sized budget can premiere, be renewed, and then kick off shooting in less time than it takes for Netflix to even mention Shadow and Bone out loud, then it becomes increasingly easy to understand why panic has long since set in amongst the fantasy fanatics who’ve grown accustomed to the company axing dozens upon dozens of originals set in the same genre space.

Like Rocky Balboa said, though, it ain’t over ’till it’s over.
