Netflix may be releasing new seasons of two big shows this year (you might be a fan of Stranger Things and Wednesday… I mean, maybe), but the streaming service also has a lot of recent shows to choose from. One of these new shows is getting a second season, but another wasn’t so lucky.

Deadline reported that Netflix renewed the comedy Running Point, which was co-created by Mindy Kaling and stars Kate Hudson, for season 2. Considering that Running Point was released on Feb. 27, 2025, Netflix didn’t waste any time deciding to greenlight more episodes.

Sadly for fans of The Recruit, Netflix decided to cancel the series on Mar. 5, 2025. Plot-wise, it couldn’t be more different from Running Point. The Recruit centers around Owen Hendricks (Noah Centineo), a lawyer at the CIA. Secrets, lies, and shocking moments follow. Running Point is about Isla Gordon (Hudson) who takes over the family business when she is appointed the new president of the basketball team the Los Angeles Waves.

If you think The Recruit kind of sounds like The Night Agent, another Netflix political thriller, well, it’s hard not to think that. The Night Agent, a show Stephen King loved, is about Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso), an agent at the FBI and, yeah, it also has secrets, lies, and shocking moments.

Alexi Hawley, the creator of The Recruit (who is also the creator and showrunner of The Rookie), said in a January 2025 interview with Deadline, “There’s a lot of goodwill inside Netflix towards the show and towards Noah” and “I think they very much feel like Noah is a homegrown star, which he is.” Sadly, Centineo’s fans won’t get to see The Recruit season 3, but they can thankfully still see his perfect face and beautiful hair in other Netflix projects, such as the movies The Perfect Date and To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before.

When comparing these two shows, it’s easy to see why Running Point won out. The reviews might not be the best, but as Deadline reported, the show was a success right away and got 9.3 million views its first weekend. It also has Hudson’s charm, which goes a long way in helping viewers become invested even if they don’t know much about sports (raising my hand).

At its core, Running Point is a story about the roles people play in their families and how had it can be to break out of that mold. Isla’s two brothers have always held higher positions in the company and now that she’s getting the chance to shine, that makes some people uncomfortable. That’s tough for Isla, but great television. Like the other Netflix darling Nobody Wants This, the show also has hilarious side characters, such as Isla’s protective BFF Ali Lee (Brenda Song).

Running Point continues Kaling’s great track record of creating sitcoms that are just plain likable. After starring in her own comedy The Mindy Project from 2012 to 2017, Kaling is now wearing her producer hat frequently, and is even working on the script for Legally Blonde 3. Her company Kaling International also produced the Netflix gem Never Have I Ever. So, after learning that Running Point is getting a season 2, I only have one question: is The Sex Lives of College Girls getting a fourth season?! It’s your move, Max!

Meghan Markle has come out swinging with her latest Netflix offering, With Love, Meghan. In this final production of hers and Prince Harry’s $100 million deal with the streamer, a deal that’s resulted in a single big hit, the duchess has pulled out all the stops to ensure this one gets as much attention as possible, including bringing in a host of celebrity friends to guest star.

At the top of the list is actress, comedian, and all-round Netflix TV supremo Mindy Kaling, who has spoken out in defense of her beleaguered bestie many times of late. Unfortunately, the cutthroat content contest that is the streaming charts is pitting pal against pal as With Love, Meghan is battling Kaling’s own newest creation for Netflix. And, unfortunately for Meghan, it’s Mindy who’s coming out on top.

As per Flix Patrol, With Love, Meghan has opened on the international streaming charts at #7. While it’s none too shabby to be the seventh most-watched show on Netflix the world over, it’s a little awkward that the cooking show’s modest success is being dwarfed by the platform’s global numero uno right now, sports comedy series Running Point.

Starring Kate Hudson as an unlikely pro basketball coach, this Ted Lasso wannabe comes from the brains of creators Elaine Ko, Ike Barinholtz, David Stassen, and Mindy Kaling. The 10-part season dropped a week ago on Feb. 27 and has managed to maintain its stranglehold on viewers’ attentions ever since. It’s no surprise that Netflix has already ordered a second season at breakneck speed.

Although Meghan will no doubt be pleased for her friend, who now gets to add Running Point to her long list of smash-hit original TV shows (see also The Mindy Project, Never Have I Ever, and The Sex Lives of College Girls… Basically anything she’s done that isn’t Velma), the state of the streaming charts does leave us with many questions about the future of the Sussexes on Netflix.

Splashing out a full nine figures on Harry and Meghan has proven to be as costly as, well, as that sounds, with only the couple’s scandalous 2022 docies bringing in enough eyes to warrant that kind of spending. In the run-up to its release, reports were claiming that the Sussexes needed With Love, Meghan to really blow up in order to convince Netflix to provide them with another cash shower. On the one hand, the show has shot straight into the platform’s global top 10, which is no mean feat, but on the other, it has failed to crack the top five.

Still, whatever happens, Netflix is bound to invest more in the Harry and Meghan brand to some extent, as insiders indicate that execs believe there’s some a way to “milk some value out of them” following the expiration of their current partnership this summer. That said, there’s almost zero chance that their next paycheck will be anywhere near as fat as last time. Mindy Kaling, meanwhile, might be due for a hefty raise.

Rom-com queen Kate Hudson is back, but she finds the modern critic ‘too microscopic’ https://wegotthiscovered.crackfree.org/celebrities/rom-com-queen-kate-hudson-is-back-but-she-finds-the-modern-critic-too-microscopic/ https://wegotthiscovered.crackfree.org/celebrities/rom-com-queen-kate-hudson-is-back-but-she-finds-the-modern-critic-too-microscopic/#respond Sun, 02 Mar 2025 19:02:05 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.crackfree.org/?p=1838829 She believes that if you try to please critics, you'll probably miss.]]>

Kate Hudson dominated the early 21st century with a slew of romantic comedies. She’s now finally back in the genre with her new series Running Point.

Her subtle charm turned many movies into modern-day classics. You, Me, and Dupree made us cry, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days made us smile, and Something Borrowed gave us charm. These movies hold a special place in fans’ hearts, even if they never quite impressed most critics.

When Christopher Nolan was sweeping up awards on his way to a well-deserved Best Picture Oscar for Oppenheimer, he shared his gripes about past criticism of his films. Nolan is one of the most celebrated directors with a built-in audience, so you’d think he never faced negative reviews. But when the star-studded Odyssey director accepted his award from the New York Film Critics Circle, he shared a hilarious story. While working out on a Peloton, he was surprised when the instructor criticized Tenet. Nolan’s anecdote perfectly encapsulates Hudson’s issue with criticism today. As she told Entertainment Weekly, “The critic has changed, meaning the whole world is a critic now.”

Hudson is no stranger to poor critical reception. Even her best work in the genre was torn apart by critics. But even back then, critics still acknowledged that she was the best part of most of her films. Roger Ebert once joked that he didn’t mention her in his poor review of How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days because he considered her in the “Witness Protection Program” of his review. These films clearly built a cult following, partly due to their relatable writing and partly due to Hudson’s acting. So even when critics like Ebert felt these movies missed the mark, they still highlighted what they got right. Nowadays, though, anyone with an X or a Peloton can throw a jab. And they will not mention anything they got right.

Reflecting on her complicated relationship with critics, Hudson told Entertainment Weekly, “I think in the movie world, critics who are looking at things with a certain microscope might sometimes not be looking at it as what people need.” She explained that she still makes movies despite criticism, saying it all comes down to knowing your audience:

“Who are you making them for? Are you making it for the critic? Are you making it for the people? You try to make the best movie possible, telling the story that you’re trying to tell. If you’re trying to think about it as who you’re trying to please, you’re probably going to miss.”

Hudson also took time in her interview to express gratitude for being able to get anything made. She correctly pointed out that, in this climate, great ideas sometimes never see the light of day simply because a genre isn’t en vogue or simply because she aged. So she just focuses on making what she believes in and acknowledges how many elements must align — especially the writing — for a rom-com to truly work.

Hudson, however, is still challenging herself. After nearly a decade away from romantic comedies, she’s finally back in her beloved genre, but this time via a TV series. She stars in Mindy Kaling’s new series Running Point.

The series follows a Jeanie Buss-inspired president of a fictional basketball team, the Los Angeles Waves. It’s perfect comfort viewing with a touch of humor, and at this point, Hudson can ace this in her sleep. And it just works. This time, though, she actually earned an 81% Rotten Tomatoes rating from critics.

Running Point is streaming now on Netflix.

‘I think there’s a misconception’: Meghan Markle’s A-list pal speaks up to defend friend amid backlash https://wegotthiscovered.crackfree.org/celebrities/i-think-theres-a-misconception-meghan-markles-a-list-pal-speaks-up-to-defend-friend-amid-backlash/ https://wegotthiscovered.crackfree.org/celebrities/i-think-theres-a-misconception-meghan-markles-a-list-pal-speaks-up-to-defend-friend-amid-backlash/#respond Fri, 21 Feb 2025 15:31:44 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.crackfree.org/?p=1836070 You definitely know and love her friend!]]>

Is Meghan Markle facing more criticism right now than when she first married Prince Harry? Considering her recent brand name shift and the negative attention on her Netflix series, the answer might be yes.

But according to Mindy Kaling, Markle is a great friend, and people don’t know the real her. Kaling appears in an episode of Markle’s series With Love, Meghan, and in an interview with TIME Magazine, the actress explained that when she was on mat leave after having her third child, a daughter named Anne, Markle asked if she would come to Montecito. Kaling loved the idea, especially since it was great timing, and said Markle sent her home with a care package of hot sauce, jam, and produce. She called Markle “very generous” and said she “knew I needed a break.”

Kaling explained, “I think a misconception about Meghan is that she’s in any way fussy or has expectations of fanciness.” She called her “down-to-earth” and praised her “fun tricks to make entertaining and cooking easier.”

Who doesn’t want to make those things simpler and less stressful?! I’d be happy if a friend invited me to their California home, cooked for me, and gave me hot sauce. So, it’s no wonder Kaling thinks Markle is a good pal. In all seriousness, though, this is a sweet story that proves Markle cares about the people in her life… and also shows that even though she’s left royal life, she’s never left the limelight. After all, she asked her famous actress and writer friend to come over and their time together was filmed for a Netflix lifestyle show. But, honestly, no shade because this is how the other half lives!

This isn’t the only time The Mindy Project actress (and creator of my fave underrated sitcom, The Sex Lives of College Girls) had some kind words for Markle. When she stood on the red carpet of the 2025 Golden Globes, Kaling said the Suits star’s backyard has chickens, which she joked she couldn’t do, and added Markle “unsurprisingly kind of blew me out of the water.”

I might be more interested in With Love, Meghan than Stranger Things season 5. Okay, maybe that’s going a bit too far, but I need to know what food Markle talks about on the show. Any recipes she has shared in the past do look and sound delicious. As The Guardian reported, she once shared an awesome Thanksgiving meal on her lifestyle blog The Tig, which included a roasted acorn squash wedge salad. One of her most beloved recipes is Zucchini Bolognese, which no one would complain about, and she has good taste in breakfast, too. She once said she loves “blueberry johnnycakes with extra crispy bacon and maple syrup” and will also eat avocado toast and poached eggs or an Acai bowl in the morning. Sign me up.

Furthermore, Kaling isn’t Markle’s only celebrity pal who has said nice things about her in the past few years. According to E! News, Patrick J. Adams, Abigail Spencer, Priyanka Chopra, and George Clooney are just a few of the famous names who have said the treatment of Prince Harry’s partner has been unfair. So, while no one is certain how good With Love, Meghan actually is, I’ll take Kaling’s word for it and check it out.

As Amazon’s ‘Legally Blonde’ series finds its Elle Woods, Mindy Kaling pours a spot of threequel tea https://wegotthiscovered.crackfree.org/tv/as-amazons-legally-blonde-series-finds-its-elle-woods-mindy-kaling-pours-a-spot-of-threequel-tea/ https://wegotthiscovered.crackfree.org/tv/as-amazons-legally-blonde-series-finds-its-elle-woods-mindy-kaling-pours-a-spot-of-threequel-tea/#respond Fri, 14 Feb 2025 21:03:32 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.crackfree.org/?p=1834065 What, like it's hard to make a “Legally Blonde” prequel and a third movie?]]>

Calling all Legally Blonde fans: it’s almost time to get to know a teenage Elle Woods before she gets accepted to Harvard Law School and learns the art of the bend and snap.

Variety reported that Lexi Minetree will play Elle in the Amazon Prime Video prequel series Elle, which has been in the works since 2024. As Variety noted, some of her credits include an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and the 2023 TV movie The Paramedic Who Stalked Me. I bet Elle would solve those cases, no problem.

But wait, there’s more good Legally Blonde news! After calling it “exciting” to learn that Minetree was cast in Elle, Mindy Kaling talked about Legally Blonde 3, which she’s writing along with Dan Goor. She said, “We wrote a draft that we think is really funny and great, you know, for Reese. And we’ll see.” She added, “I’m just like a writer for hire on like my most favorite franchise… I don’t have a lot of answers. I wish I did.”

So, although Legally Blonde 3 has no release date, at least fans can breathe a sigh of relief that it’s coming at some point. It’s almost too much to handle thinking about these two Legally Blonde projects being out in the universe. Unlike sequels that delve into a part of a fictional world that no one cares about, both the prequel series and third movie sound like they should exist. Elle is what is sure to be a funny and smart origin story, and Legally Blonde 3 is about a 40-year-old Elle Woods (Reese Witherspoon). Kaling told Access Hollywood, “when Reese asked me to write it I was like, ‘Absolutely!'” because she’s such a fan. And she reassured everyone that the bend and snap and other nostalgic references will be included.

I was 11 years old (almost 12) when Legally Blonde was released in July 2001, and I was immediately drawn to the sweet, funny, and very pink story of a young woman getting revenge on her ex-boyfriend by attending Harvard Law. Of course, she discovers her ion for the law and realizes she can ditch the guy. At first glance, it might seem like a silly film, but it’s inspiring to see Elle prove everyone wrong. She’s smarter than others think she is, and she never stops believing in herself. That’s a powerful message whether you’re a pre-teen, teen, or in your 30s. Sure, part of me wanted to grow up and be the stylish Elle, but I also appreciated seeing a character find success on her own .

Let’s also have a moment of silence for the 2003 sequel Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde, which wasn’t the franchise’s finest moment. Alright, moving on. I’m excited to see what an adolescent Elle is like, and hope she has some big moments of standing up to a mean teacher or a friend who betrayed her. I’m equally thrilled at the chance to see Elle as an adult, and to watch Witherspoon reprise one of her most beloved roles. In the decades since Legally Blonde came out, Witherspoon has shown her range, most notably as complicated moms on Big Little Lies and Little Fires Everywhere. I can’t wait to see her play this sparkly, pink, and wonderful character again.

Mindy Kaling is grateful to have been invited to Meghan Markle on her Netflix cooking show With Love, Meghan. She said it couldn’t have come at a most fortunate time after she welcomed her third child.

Netflix dropped the trailer for the fifth series produced by the Duke and Duchess of Sussexes’ Archwell Production company earlier this month, just a few days after the former Suits star launched her new Instagram page. The video shows the mom-of-two whipping up delicious desserts and sumptuous food for her guests, which consist of close friends and colleagues, including the The Office alum.

Kaling appears in the early part of the trailer as she exclaims: “What? This is probably the most glamorous moment of my life!” Netflix also released a photo showing the two women dressed in florals as they enter what appears to be a garden shed beautifully decorated with balloons and flowers around a table prepped for a tea party.

The image is giving major birthday vibes, which could be one of the reasons why the Royal invited the comedian to be on her show. Kaling recently privately gave birth to her third baby, and the appearance on Meghan’s show could be the latter’s way of celebrating the joyous moment with her friend.

“I had had my baby and I think I was like, two months postpartum, and she texted me and was like, ‘Do you want to be on my show">

Aside from Kaling, other guests on With Love, Meghan include Abigail Spencer, the Duchess’ longtime makeup artist Daniel Martin, photographer Delfina Blaquier (wife of Harry’s best pal Nacho Figueras), Tracy Robbins (spouse of Paramount CEO Brian Robbins), Kelly McKee Zajfen, the co-founder of Alliance of Moms, Tatcha founder Vicky Tsai, and Godmothers Bookstore co-founder Jennifer Rudolph Walsh. Chefs featured in the show include celebrity chef Roy Choi and Alice Walters. The show arrives on Netflix on Jan. 15.

Mindy Kaling’s DNC appearance, explained https://wegotthiscovered.crackfree.org/celebrities/mindy-kalings-dnc-appearance-explained/ https://wegotthiscovered.crackfree.org/celebrities/mindy-kalings-dnc-appearance-explained/#respond Tue, 27 Aug 2024 18:24:50 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.crackfree.org/?p=1745392 She's one of many celebrities who showed up to Kamala Harris.]]>

Mindy Kaling has had a challenging few years, what with the near-violent rejection of her Scooby-Doo spin-off Velma, but she’s bouncing back just fine.

That initial wave of criticism doesn’t seem to have slowed her much, to be fair, after decades of enduring harsh and often racist pushback. Kaling’s been a staple of comedy since her early days interning for Late Night with Conan O’Brien. In the years since, she’s lended her comedic talent to a range of popular projects, from The Office and The Mindy Project, to Inside Out and The Sex Lives of College Girls.

She’s also lending her talent to political campaigns, these days, as pressure mounts on public figures to get involved in the contentious 2024 election. As we eye down a potential second presidency for disastrous dunce Donald Trump, Kaling is stepping up — along with dozens of other stars — to throw her weight behind Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.

Why did Mindy Kaling speak at the DNC?

Kaling was one of dozens of celebrities — and celebrity-adjacent figures — that made a showing at the 2024 DNC, stepping up to show their for Kamala Harris. Kaling only spoke for a few minutes on the third night of the event, but her four-minute speech became a major focus of the night after she left audience in stitches.

Starting off strong by proclaiming herself “the woman who courageously outed Kamala Harris as Indian in an Instagram cooking video,” Kaling zeroed in on the human behind the political campaign. Her entire speech was focused around who Harris is as a person, rather than who she is as a senator or vice president. She referred to the presidential candidate as a longtime friend, and leaned hard on stories of their shared background — both having come from immigrant Indian mothers who unfortunately ed to cancer — and the values that background instilled in Harris.

Kaling also spent a fair chunk of her speech discussing that aforementioned Instagram video, in which she and then-Senator Harris cooked “Dosas, a South Indian dish.” She lauded the vice president for her approachable nature, and particularly for the care she took to remain on equal footing with her host. Rather than make attempts to look better than Kaling — something she apparently is, at least when it comes to cooking — Harris was respectful and kind, “complimenting me every step of the way, making sure that my daughter Kit heard how good of a cook I am.”

That same kind, approachable nature is exactly what’s drawing voters toward the Harris campaign. Particularly when compared against Trump, a tantruming would-be tyrant with no humanity to speak of, Harris is gloriously, refreshingly normal. She’s affectionate and warm, she’s bubbly and cheerful, and most importantly she’s smart. Smart enough to be a district attorney, a senator, a vice president, and hopefully someday soon, a president.

Why were Bill Hader and Mindy Kaling recast for ‘Inside Out 2?’ https://wegotthiscovered.crackfree.org/disney/why-were-bill-hader-and-mindy-kaling-recast-for-inside-out-2/ https://wegotthiscovered.crackfree.org/disney/why-were-bill-hader-and-mindy-kaling-recast-for-inside-out-2/#respond Thu, 09 Nov 2023 17:32:02 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.crackfree.org/?p=1622257 Corporate greed strikes again!]]>

When Inside Out first hit theatres in 2015, few could have guessed what a phenomenon the Pixar feelgood flick would be. A breath of fresh air during a period where fans and critics alike felt the Disney subsidy could only make sequels, Inside Out blew past expectations. With the film netting more than $850 million worldwide, it’s no surprise Pixar is finally making a follow-up feature. Despite the success of the first, Mindy Kaling and Bill Hader won’t be g on for the sequel.

Why won’t Bill Hader and Mindy Kaling be in Inside Out 2?

There is no denying that Bill Hader and Mindy Kaling perfectly embodied their Inside Out emotions. Hader, who plays Fear in the film, has been very open about his own struggles with anxiety. The comedian had a panic attack during a live SNL skit – though you’d never even know it. Mindy Kaling is just as perfect for Disgust. Her work on The Mindy Project and the Office helped establish the snooty persona perfect for the character. While the creators went back and forth on whether Disgust “should be disgusted or disgusting” for some time, they knew Kaling was the perfect person to voice a perpetually disgusted person.

Despite the spot on casting, Kaling revealed back in January 2023 that she wasn’t coming back for the sequel. At the time, she told The Wrap that, while she wasn’t a part of the production at that very moment, there could have been a different outcome. At the time, there was speculation that her hesitancy might have been due to salary disputes. It seems those rumors have been confirmed. The Puck Newsletter broke news that the actors were offered just 2% of the salary Amy Poehler received. Where the Joy actress was set to rake in $5 million, Hader and Kaling were each offered only $100K.

On top of that, Poehler was offered “addition fees and bonuses,” where her co-stars were not. With the duo giving the film a hard , the roles have been ed on to some different but equally talented actors. Liza Lapira (Fast & Furious) is the new Disgust, and Tony Hale (Arrested Development) is stepping in for Fear. In addition to the familiar cast of characters, the movie is set to introduce everyone’s least favorite part of middle school: ever-looming social anxiety. Anxiety will be voice by Maya Hawke (Stranger Things).

With the Sag-Aftra strikes finally coming to a close earlier this week, we hope that this sort of discrepancy is a thing of the past.

When it comes to shows that successfully connect with their viewers, The Office is in a league of its own. At the end of each episode, audiences had an unexplainable sense of belonging to a workplace they could love and be annoyed by, all while laughing, crying, and generally having a great time. The Office gave us the best and the worst boss ever, Michael Scott, the sweet relationship between Jim and Pam, and the immortal line, “Dunder Mifflin, this is Pam.” Even if the series ended a while ago, its allure is still strong. With the show’s increasing ratings came more fame for its stars.

After winning a Golden Globe for his depiction of Michael Scott, Steve Carell proved himself to be an actor capable of switching effortlessly between humor and drama. John Krasinski has gone from playing the lovable Jim Halpert to playing an action hero in Jack Ryan and is now branching out into filmmaking with A Quiet PlaceMindy Kaling, aka Kelly Kapoor, not only acted on The Office but was also a writer and executive producer, laying the groundwork for her successful career as a showrunner. These professional achievements have increased the actors’ net worth to unprecedented heights. So, let’s do a full office audit based on how much each cast member is worth.

10. Oscar Nuñez — $5 Million

First, there’s Oscar Nuñez, the ant we know as Oscar Martinez. He remained calm and collected in the middle of office mayhem, serving as a voice of reason for everyone. The character broke new ground in many ways, notably as one of the first gay characters on network television. But Nuñez’s talent doesn’t stop at Dunder Mifflin. Post The Office, he continued to ride the wave of success with several notable roles.

his hilarious turn as Councilman Rodriguez in Brooklyn Nine-Nine? Or his portrayal of Papi in the critically acclaimed series Mr. Iglesias? And let’s not forget his cameo in the hit Netflix show Never Have I Ever, created by fellow The Office alum Mindy Kaling. It wasn’t just his acting that brought in the big bucks. Mindy Kaling shows off her summer bod with a yellow bikini and the perfect ‘Legally Blonde’ throwback https://wegotthiscovered.crackfree.org/celebrities/mindy-kaling-shows-off-her-summer-bod-with-a-yellow-bikini-and-the-perfect-legally-blonde-throwback/ https://wegotthiscovered.crackfree.org/celebrities/mindy-kaling-shows-off-her-summer-bod-with-a-yellow-bikini-and-the-perfect-legally-blonde-throwback/#respond Tue, 27 Jun 2023 21:21:16 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.crackfree.org/?p=1522983 She looks great in daffodil.]]>

Sometimes you just gotta lay out in the sun, in a pool, on an inflatable raft and maybe get a drone or something to take a picture of you. That’s exactly what Mindy Kaling recently on her Instagram page, and she looks great. The Office and mother of two channeled her inner Elle Woods and well, it really works for her.

“Basically doing fanfic of Reese Witherspoon in her green Elle Woods bikini,” she wrote in the caption. The color wasn’t green though, it was daffodil. The swimsuit? From Andie Swim, a swimwear company for women. Is it an ad? Who knows? Who cares. There are worse things in the world let’s be honest here.

Kaling also shared a screenshot of Witherspoon as Woods for comparison, and it’s fine but here’s a refresher as well.

This post follows a previous one where The Mindy Project star, 44, revealed that her doctor told her “this year was the healthiest I’ve been in years.” The actress reportedly lost over 40 pounds this year. How’d she do it? She told Page Six that she just tells herself to “do basically 20 miles a week of either hiking or running. And so that’s been incredibly helpful to me.”

Look, the only miles I’m doing are in the sky on a plane. It’s really easy to tear down celebrities, and I get it they have lots of money and who doesn’t hate that, but good for her. I can’t hate on that kind of effort when I’m sore for days after a beer league softball game.

Did Mindy Kaling have plastic surgery? https://wegotthiscovered.crackfree.org/news/did-mindy-kaling-have-plastic-surgery/ https://wegotthiscovered.crackfree.org/news/did-mindy-kaling-have-plastic-surgery/#respond Fri, 20 Jan 2023 20:12:28 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.crackfree.org/?p=1402630 It's her little secret.]]>

Mindy Kaling is an actress, writer, and producer who initially stole fans’ hearts in 2005 as the loveable if chaotic Kelly Kapor on the hit show The Office. Since then, she has made some major transitions both professionally and personally. It’s hard to even recognize the quiet girl from season one of The Office to The Sex Lives of College Girls bombshell we now recognize as Mindy Kaling. Yet many fans wonder if her transformation was all self-induced or if she had a little professional help — of the plastic kind. Here is everything we know about Mindy’s dive into the world of plastic surgery.

One of the rumors that hounds Mindy the most is regarding her weight loss. Fans wonder if it was diet and exercise alone or if she might have had a little help — of the surgical variety. However, in an interview with Hello! Magazine, Mindy attributes her weight loss to a drastic change in attitude. She claims she switched her mindset from looking at exercise as “punishment” and instead looked at her overall lifestyle change as being “active” and “healthy.” She claims even small changes such as walking for 10 minutes as opposed to sitting down have helped with her weight loss and that she has added a variety of forms of exercise to her routine. She echoed these claims in an interview with People Magazine, saying she was able to lose weight without even “restricting her diet.” While Mindy sticks to her claim that a few mindset tweaks are responsible for her weight loss, it does seem a dramatic difference for just a few small changes. Yet if Mindy has had any type of weight loss surgery, her lips are sealed.

It certainly looks like Mindy has had some Botox and filler work done on her face, but then again, what modern-day celebrity hasn’t? Getting Botox injections in Hollywood these days is as commonplace as celebrities getting their nails done. So while Mindy has never come right out and said she gets facial injections, we can pretty much rest our hats on the fact that she does. The 43-year-old’s face is noticeably wrinkle-free and has the smooth look of fresh Botox. She is also rumored to have at least a small amount of lip injections and the difference between her lips as season one’s Kelly Kapoor to current day is noticeable. Yet as with her weight loss, if she has had any work done, she is keeping her perfectly pouted lips sealed.

Reddit and other forms of social media are teeming with differing opinions, conspiracy theories, and all kinds of thoughts on Mindy Kaling’s appearance. Fans have even created entire videos showing all of Mindy’s before and after looks. Many wonder if she has indeed gone under the knife of plastic surgery and if so, how much.

By far the most controversial of Mindy’s cosmetic interventions are around her alleged “skin bleaching.” Mindy’s family is from India and she has the darker skin and hair that is classic of the culture. However, fans couldn’t help but notice that her skin has appeared a little less dark over the years, especially from her first appearance on The Office to her modern-day look. So what’s the deal? Different makeup? A trick of the lighting? Or could she perhaps be involved in the practice of skin bleaching? The process works to make darker skin lighter and is very controversial. Kaling has never spoken publicly if she has been involved in the practice but the difference in her skin tone is noticeable. Although her fans claim everything from better lighting, makeup, Instagram filters, and even her active and healthy lifestyle could be contributing factors to her “glowing” skin.

The multi-talented Mindy has never looked better, but whether it’s good genetics or a whole lot of plastic surgery remains her little secret. Despite her fan’s best efforts to find out.

An old problematic interview with Mindy Kaling gives further fuel to the ‘Velma’ hating masses https://wegotthiscovered.crackfree.org/celebrities/an-old-problematic-interview-with-mindy-kaling-gives-further-fuel-to-the-velma-hating-masses/ https://wegotthiscovered.crackfree.org/celebrities/an-old-problematic-interview-with-mindy-kaling-gives-further-fuel-to-the-velma-hating-masses/#respond Fri, 20 Jan 2023 01:25:11 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.crackfree.org/?p=1402161 Mindy Kaling appeared to boast about a non-consensual kiss while filming with Lee Pace.]]>

Mindy Kaling is not enjoying the most pleasurable time in the entertainment spotlight right now. Since the release of her critically rejected Velma series, she’s become the new public enemy number one in the eyes of many.

Velma, to be as brutally honest as possible, is not a particularly good series. The jokes mostly do not land, there’s a weird fence-sitting in the culture wars going on, and overall a lot of just lazy jokes. Surprising given Kaling’s roots in writing some of the absolute best episodes of The Office, but she’s no longer seen as “The Office writer” but “Velma writer”.

Things don’t get much better for her either. An interview from 2015 on Conan O’Brien currently going viral again which paints a picture of her essentially itting to inappropriate conduct on set, and jokingly remarking ing her position to cover up the situation.

Kaling’s story comes from the set of The Mindy Project, and it doesn’t paint a good picture for the star. Kaling details how when filming an intimate scene with Lee Pace, she decided to kiss him without permission and without it being in the script. Her story also details how her coworkers told her it wasn’t alright, and she seems to take the story like a strange badge of honor.

Now, social media is again aflame discussing the situation with some likening it to Harvey Weinstein-levels of disgusting. Lee Pace, it is worth noting, is openly gay but at the time of the incident was not out.

Kaling is also under fire for a date rape joke she wrote during The Mindy Project, in which she seems to make light of sexual assault against men.

While comedy is absolutely the quickest thing to age, we do need to bring up how this feels like it would’ve been wrong a decade ago anyway. Sexual assault against men is often used in media as a joke, with it described as “trivialized” in a lengthy op-ed piece from Feminism in India.

Kaling is a massive figure and a trailblazer for women in comedy television. Very rarely before her had a woman of Indian descent made it so far and become so successful in the United States. Unfortunately, there’s still warts and all from even trailblazers. Velma’s horrendous reception on top of this unearthing of old controversy feels like it’s all leading to a breaking point for Kaling.

We Got This Covered has reached out to Kaling’s representatives for comment.
