Kanye isn’t being held somewhere against his will, but we imagine his friends and family sometimes wish he was after repeated meltdowns that have seen him praise Hitler, identify as a Nazi, and parade his wife around practically naked before the world’s press. Then again, awful as all that is, Diddy is potentially facing decades behind bars, so Kanye’s at least in a more enviable position.

All of which makes it curious that, in a prison phone call from Diddy to Kanye obtained by The Shade Room, Diddy is the one giving Kanye some cryptic and ominous career advice. After optimistically beginning “‘When I get out there” (technically that should be an “if”, Diddy) he instructs Kanye: “I need to see you back on that stage, f*****g actually rapping and f*****g performing and everything. I be dreaming of that s**t!”

But, delivering a sweet spoonful of schadenfreude, it seems Diddy is not having a great time behind bars: This s**t is f*****g sad. I’m Puff Daddy in jail. This s**t is f*****g sad as a motherf****r. and concluded that “the devil is a liar”. C’mon Diddy, we’ve seen the security camera footage of you beating Cassie Ventura.

Diddy signs off with a warning, indicating he believes there’s some kind of conspiracy out to bring him down that Kanye runs the risk of being caught up in. In a sober moment, Diddy tells Kanye to “be careful” and ominously mentions that “they definitely trying to end us”. Who Diddy thinks “they” are is unclear, but y’know, perhaps “they” wouldn’t be so successful in their plans if you hadn’t done all that creepy illegal stuff they can use against you.

His new feud with Kim

All this comes against the backdrop of the controversy generated by Kanye’s release of new song “Lonely Roads Still Go To Sunshine”, which features himself, Diddy, Diddy’s son, and his 11-year-old daughter North West.

As you would imagine, North’s mother Kim Kardashian isn’t exactly jumping for joy about her young daughter appearing on a record alongside a man facing trial for a dizzying array of crimes against women, demanding Kanye remove her from the song “to protect her”. Kanye responded by saying he was “going to war” with her, that “neither of us will recover from the public fallout” and, very unnervingly “you’re going to have to kill me”.

All of which indicates that Diddy and Kanye truly are a match made in hell. Here’s hoping the two eventually get to spend a lot of time in each other’s company.

Kanye West has courted controversy yet again, this time by acting as a vessel for disgraced music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs to reach the outside world. West escalated the situation further by trying to place one of his daughters, North West, in the same song with Combs.

The song remains posted on West’s X and features a distressed voice note from Diddy, thanking him for being the only person to reach out since his imprisonment. Kanye produced an entire track for Diddy titled Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine, presumably slated for his album, which he’s promoting on X in between posts declaring that he’s now a Nazi.

Page Six reports that, prior to the song, Kanye had not seen his children for weeks. Sources confirmed to them that Kanye used one of his rare meetings with his daughter, North, to record a song intended for his Sunday service shows. Instead, West attached North’s vocals to a song he made with Diddy. The lyrics in the rap, “When you see me shining, then you see the light,” are sung by the 11-year-old North.

The move immediately distressed Kim, and she reached out to a judge and mediator to try her best to ensure the song wouldn’t see the light of day. Despite initially promising to not release the song, Kanye then posted the song exclusively on X.

Kanye’s peers have largely ignored his antics, however, this time, his ex-wife Kim Kardashian tried to block the song to “protect” their daughter. Diddy currently faces multiple charges, including drug and human trafficking. While authorities haven’t proven anything yet, the released details and videos of his conquests have effectively and permanently expelled him from society. Kim is just making sure her child stays unconnected to the sinking ship, which is Diddy’s reputation.

She attempted the block through the trademarks she holds for her children. The argument over these trademarks spilled into another of West’s infamous screenshots. Their misunderstanding seemingly stems from Kim Kardashian claiming that they both agreed to trademark North’s name to ensure nobody else could take it but that she will solely hold onto it until North turns 18.

From the brief screenshot, Kanye demands Kim amend her trademark over their children’s rights so he can also bear control. When Kim understandably hesitates, Kanye declares “war” on her.

Kardashian, an aspiring lawyer, is a strong advocate for criminal justice reform and has been vocal about her for those she believes were wrongfully convicted or given harsh sentences, even documenting her crusade in the 2020 feature-length documentary The Justice Project. Last year, Kardashian took to Instagram to plead with her followers to sign an online petition to stay the execution of Texas death row inmate Ivan Cantu.

Cantu was convicted and sentenced to death in 2001 for two counts of capital murder in the shooting deaths of his cousin, James Mosqueda, and Mosqueda’s girlfriend, Amy Kitchen. Cantu maintained his innocence, and his ers – including Kardashian, Martin Sheen, and Jane Fonda – believed the pieces of evidence against him were flimsy at best. Furthermore, one of the prosecution’s key witnesses itted to perjury. Still, his final request for a stay was denied, and he was executed via lethal injection on Feb. 28, 2024 — two days after Kardashian’s Instagram post — declaring his innocence in his final moments.

The issue with Kardashian’s post was the photo she attached. Instead of the inmate’s photo, she mistakenly used an image of another man, a New Yorker who happened to share the same name with the death row inmate. Per Cantu’s lawyer, Greg Sobo, the social media mishap happened when his client was grieving the loss of a family member, further aggravating the situation. “Kim Kardashian took his name, his picture, and his reputation, and accused him of being a convicted murderer to her over 350 million followers,” Sobo told HuffPost.

After learning that his photo was used, Cantu took to his Facebook to clear his name, writing, “To all my friends and family, I am not getting executed, some idiot who runs @kimkardashian used my picture instead of Ivan ‘Abner’ Cantu.” He filed the lawsuit last week, claiming Kardashian’s mistake caused emotional distress and invaded his privacy. The suit accuses the socialite of defamation, slander, negligence, libel, and representing him in a false light. 

Kardashian’s legal counsel, Michael Rhodes, responded to the lawsuit, saying that it was a “simple mistake,” adding that the Instagram post was deleted as soon as the error was discovered, which happened just moments after the photo was posted. Rhodes says they would prefer to settle the issue out of court, but “will defend Kim as needed.” It seems Cantu’s side is intent on seeing it through to litigation, as Sobo said they have repeatedly attempted to Kardashian and her lawyers but got no response, prompting them to file the lawsuit.
