Listen up Hollywood, The Golden Globes is not done shaking things up.

The Golden Globes is not exactly out of the doghouse, but the come-up seems like it’s on the pipeline. For the longest time, The Golden Globes has always acted as a curtain raiser for The Oscars — a little cringier, a little funnier, and definitely more tipsy. However, there was a badly kept secret underbelly to the inner workings of The Golden Globes: the committee that chose the winners was not diverse at all and, to make it worse, they were also quite corrupt.

But a lot has changed since that revelation in 2023. They got a bit more diverse in their committee and their new ownership vowed to uphold “professionalization.” It took a while before the show got back to its old form, and this year — especially with the elite Nikki Glaser hosting — it felt like they actually might have made a full comeback.

Yet it couldn’t really end there. As things stood, it was just The Oscars’ little brother. The Golden Globes has always stood for an awards night that’s a little looser than anything else on the packed awards circuit. So it was a matter of when and not if for them to make a truly wide swing at an award that doesn’t just suggest the suits and red carpet photography. And that has now fully been decided: The Golden Globes will officially add Best Podcast from 2026 onwards. So there’s a huge possibility of Joe Rogan walking that carpet one day next to all the celebrities he spends his show bashing.

According to CNN, The Golden Globes will only consider podcasts within the Top 25 Podcast list. So there’s at least some quality control. However, it’s not exactly clear how this is going to work. Are they gonna favor movie and TV podcasts like The Big Picture and The Watch? The problem with that is sometimes these shows dedicate entire episodes to reacting to awards nights such as The Golden Globes — so how would that work? And sometimes they criticize these shows and the voters — so would that water down these podcasts because they want to remain in the good graces of the voters?

And then there’s also the case of Joe Rogan and his band of fellow comedians who pride themselves in their irreverent rejection of Hollywood. Do they stand a chance? Or will this award just go to famous celebrities who are yet to win a Golden Globe and happen to have a podcast?

Cynicism has already hit X, and some fans have assumed that this is “completely a PR award.”

I hope the committee behind The Golden Globes ends up making inspired choices. At this point, podcasting can get you a Webby Award, but nobody can deny that podcasting has since grown into mainstream culture. They even influence elections.

The Golden Globes has informed the press that in the coming weeks they’ll give more information on the eligibility of this category. Glaser is going to have a field day with this category, that’s for sure.

In welcome news for fans of the comedian, Nikki Glaser has officially been named as the host of the 2026 Golden Globes, following her acclaimed stint at this year’s ceremony. The awards body announced that Glaser will once again take on hosting duties for the 83rd edition of the star-studded television and film awards, which is scheduled for January of next year and will air on CBS and Paramount Plus.

It will see the comedian — known for her infamous roasting skills of celebrities like Tom Brady — make history yet again, since the 2025 Golden Globes marked the first ceremony ever hosted by a solo woman. 

Glaser took to social media to celebrate the news of her return, sharing a promotional poster for next year’s ceremony with the caption “Round 2!”. Meanwhile, in a press release announcing the news, Glaser said “hosting the Golden Globes this year was without a doubt the most fun I have ever had in my career,” before name-dropping a TV series that’s sure to dominate next year’s ceremony. “I can’t wait to do it again, and this time in front of the team from The White Lotus who will finally recognize my talent and cast me in Season Four as a Scandinavian Pilates instructor with a shadowy past.” 

According to Deadline, Glaser’s return to the Golden Globes stage will also come with a (well-deserved) pay rise, following her speculated $400,000 payday for her debut stint as host this year. Better yet, it’s believed Glaser signed a three-year deal to host the Golden Globes, so she can expect an even bigger check come 2027. Glaser’s payment for the gig was the source of much chatter earlier this year, so it’s nice to know she might be earning as much as her male (and in some cases, much worse) counterparts.

It’s fitting that the promotional poster for Glaser’s Golden Globes return sees her wearing boxing gloves, since her 2025 monologue was littered with hilarious jabs. In addition to calling the ceremony “Ozempic’s biggest night,” Glaser also took a swipe at Joker: Folie à Deux’s complete lack of nominations, Stanley Tucci’s side-hustle as an internet cook, and the pronunciation of Timothée Chalamet’s name, with a little help from Adam Sandler. 

Clearly chuffed with her performance (duh, they invited her back), Golden Globes President Helen Hoehne said Glaser “brought a refreshing spark and fearless wit” to this year’s ceremony, adding that her “sharp humor and bold presence set the tone for an unforgettable night, making the ceremony feel vibrant and most of all fun.” Fans were equally thrilled about news of Glaser’s return, with one X saying the comedian “deserves it” and another adding that “it only makes sense” for her to reenter the Golden Globes stage.

Other buzzy moments from this year’s ceremony included the awkward exchange between The Rock and Vin Diesel, Sofia Vergara’s heckling of Jodie Foster’s acceptance speech, and Andrew Garfield being… well, Andrew Garfield. Alongside her hosting gig, Glaser just wrapped up her stand-up tour The Good Girl and is now on her Alive and Unwell tour.

Just one day after Nikki Glaser unceremoniously roasted it at the Golden Globes, Joker: Folie à Deux has found an unexpected fan in the form of Hairspray director, John Waters. 

In case you missed it, Glaser — who served as the host of the glitzy ceremony — took square aim at the Todd Phillips sequel during her opening monologue. After making light of the almost uniformly negative fan and critic reactions to Folie à Deux, the comedian joked about the absence of the film’s cast and crew at the event, since it was glaringly omitted in all categories. “Where’s their table?” Glaser asked, “Oh, they’re not here, that’s right.” While it was met with a smattering of laughter from the audience, not everyone took the joke so lightheartedly. 

In a recent interview published in Paper Magazine, Waters — who directed the original 1988 Hairspray that was later adapted into the 2007 movie musical — was asked his thoughts on Folie à Deux. Perhaps given his musical roots, Waters declared that “the critics were wrong” about the Joaquin Phoenix-starring sequel, since “people don’t understand that they sing showtunes.” While he itted to “stupidly believ[ing] the critics” before watching, Waters said he changed his (show)tune after actually seeing Folie à Deux, praising it as “great and well-developed…I thought it was wonderful,” he said. 

Waters also extended his compliments to Phillips, saying he “like[s] that film director a lot” and that he “likes all his movies.” Alongside Folie à Deux and the first Joker — which earned him a 2019 Oscar nomination for Best Picture — Phillips’ credits include The Hangover comedy franchise and War Dogs.  To his argument, Waters cited fellow director Quentin Tarantino, who likewise defied critics when he said in October that he “really, really liked” Folie à Deux. “I read later that Quentin Tarantino really liked it, too,” Waters said, “so it definitely has its followers, but I think we’re a little too late to help with it.”

The reason Waters was even mentioned alongside Folie à Deux was because, last month, he included the sequel in his list of 2024’s best movies for Vulture. That inclusion made headlines of its own, but his other entries saw far more success at the Golden Globes than the Arthur Fleck vehicle. For instance, Waters included both Emilia Pérez and The Brutalist, which took home the wins for Best Musical or Comedy and Best Drama, respectively, as well as Babygirl, which scored a Best Actress nod for Nicole Kidman. 

Folie à Deux wasn’t the only subject of Glaser’s razor-sharp burns, with her monologue aiming at everyone from Ariana Grande to Timothée Chalamet and Stanley Tucci (with a hilarious Adam Sandler cameo to boot). Elsewhere, other buzzy moments from this year’s ceremony included Vin Diesel’s revival of a years-old beef with Dwayne Johnson, Sofia Vergara heckling Jodie Foster, and Andrew Garfield doing his darndest to break the internet for the eleven hundredth time. Oh, we also got an appearance from the winners of the Glen Powell and Chalamet look-alike contests… So, there’s that?

In of Folie à Deux, it seems the divisive film might’ve run its course, with Phillips telling The Hollywood Reporter that his “time in the DC Universe was these two films.” If it ever does come to fruition, you can bet your bottom dollar Waters will be first in line at the box office.

From Demi Moore’s moving acceptance speech, to being blinded by Zendaya’s engagement ring, the Golden Globes had its fair share of standout moments.

But an awards show is only as good as its host. Last year’s ceremony, marred by lackluster hosting from Jo Koy, left audiences and critics groaning, setting a rather low bar. Enter Nikki Glaser, who stormed the stage with the confidence of someone who had everything to prove. In just one night, she had audiences rolling in laughter, celebrities nervously checking their egos, and producers praying she’d stick around for next year.

Glaser’s comedic sweet spot

Glaser, popularly known for her sharp wit and unapologetic roasting skills, especially after her fiery performance at Netflix’s The Roast of Tom Brady last year, brought a unique edge to the Golden Globes. But hosting an awards show isn’t just about tearing people apart; it’s also about walking the fine line between playful humor and outright offense, a balance Glaser nailed.

And evidently, she left the execs nodding in approval.

Ultimately her efforts paid off, with executive producer Glenn Weiss sharing with Variety about how she “found her niche,” and left them thinking about her “long-term” potential as a host. “She did her homework,” Weiss said. “She’s been practicing material at clubs, sometimes four or five shows a night for weeks.”

And the effort didn’t go unnoticed. Glaser’s debut gig reportedly earned her around a hefty $400,000 paycheck, a number that could see a significant boost if she returns for the 83rd ceremony next year. Weiss remained tight-lipped on formal offers, but teased that producers were thrilled with her performance. “Perhaps!” he said when asked if she’d be back. “She really worked hard and made it look effortless.”

Behind the curtains

Hours after stepping off the Globes stage, Glaser appeared on The Howard Stern Show, offering a behind-the-scenes peek into the months of prep, endless revisions, and even the jokes that didn’t make the cut. “Some of these we’d get pitched and we were like, ‘We can’t say that on TV,’” she revealed, laughing about how some of the sharper jabs were moved to what she called “The Stern File.”

When Stern asked if she’d return for the 83rd edition, Glaser didn’t rule it out. “They haven’t asked me formally,” she said. “But there’s been chatter about it, I can’t imagine they wouldn’t.” 

If Glaser is officially called back to host the 83rd edition, she would an elite club of back-to-back hosts, following in the footsteps of the legendary Ricky Gervais and the iconic duo of Amy Poehler and Tina Fey. It’s a prestigious honor reserved for only the best, and after her knockout debut, Glaser has more than earned her spot in that lineup.

In a sentence that’ll have you yelling “eat the rich!”, it has been revealed that the already wealthy winners and presenters at this year’s Golden Globes were treated to gift bags worth up to $1 million — but there’s a catch.  

Curated by luxury magazine Robb Report, the gift bag contained 28 luxury items valued at the million-dollar mark. The array of items reads like the checklist of a guest at The White Lotus, and includes, but is not limited to: an assortment of vacations, wellness offerings like  personalized dance and workout sessions, and a selection of rare cigars and alcohol products. Since this is Hollywood — which, as host Nikki Glaser put it, is “sponsored by Ozempic” — the gift bag also included a $60,000 facelift and non-surgical stem cell treatment worth $40,000. 

On the vacation front, the trips included in the gift bag ranged from yacht stays in the Coral Triangle in Indonesia, a private flight to Finland for the Northern Lights, and, the most expensive of all, a three-night stay in a beachfront villa in Turks and Caicos, priced at over $500,000. While the idea of A-listers walking away with such riches might be enough to make you scream (even though the idea of Andrew Garfield laying beachside feels nice), the gift bag comes with some necessary fine print. 

According to The Guardian, the 28 gifts were given not as a package deal, but as individual or grouped products on a first come, first serve basis. As such, and though still nothing to scoff at, the $1 million price tag of the gift bag was merely the grand total of all items, and not what each winner or presenter stood to receive. The only actual gift that every celebrity did get was a suede holdall bag, which contained a list of all the other items that had not yet been scooped up by the winners or presenters before them. 

Less expensive items, like treills (again, this is Hollywood), were available in their dozens, while the more expensive gifts, like the non-surgical facelift, could only be claimed by one celebrity.  The decision to operate on this first come first serve basis goes some way in taking the sting out of the idea that winners’ were adding to their already exorbitant wealth (for context, Globes winner Demi Moore is worth a reported $200 million). After all, picturing the look on an actor’s face when they realized the Turks and Caicos trip had already been claimed feels priceless. 

In any case, the gift bag was just a small part of the lavish and memorable ceremony, which took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. Some notable moments included wins for both Emilia Pérez and Kieran Culkin (for his role in A Real Pain), as well as Vin Diesel’s awkward revival of a years-old beef with Dwayne Johnson. They were almost outdone in the cringe-factor category by Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford, whose co-presenter slot raised eyebrows ahead of their co-starring roles in Captain America: Brave New World. 

Elsewhere, Sebastian Stan roused audiences with his acceptance speech, while Garfield roused audiences for being, well, Andrew Garfield. Meanwhile, Sofia Vergara and Jodie Foster shared a jovial tit-for-tat during the latter’s acceptance speech, and we somehow got an appearance from the winners of the Glen Powell and Timothée Chalamet look-alike contests. If anyone, the gift bag should’ve gone to those two doppelgangers, whose work is just as tireless as anyone in front of a camera.

Fresh off her successful stint as the host of the 2025 Golden Globes, Nikki Glaser has expressed her eagerness to return to MC duties next year, despite an apparent pay disparity.

Glaser reflected on her experience hosting the star-studded event during a recent interview on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show. Discussing the payday she received for the gig, the famous stand-up comedian (and even more famous roaster) said that she “got paid pretty [well]” and was “good with” the check she received. Unfortunately for all you nosey readers (like me), Glaser didn’t disclose the exact sum she received for the role, but did say it was less than a previous male comedian who hosted the ceremony in 2023. 

“There was a past host who said how much he got paid in his monologue and I got less than that,” Glaser said. While it’s these exact kinds of double standards that Glaser hilariously called out in her own monologue, the comedian said she was nonetheless satisfied with her paycheck, and could always work on securing a pay rise for hosting future Golden Globes ceremonies. “That’s OK,” Glaser said of the pay disparity, “I’ll get more next year.” While Glaser didn’t mention him by name, the past male host she’s likely referring to is Jerrod Carmichael, who revealed during his 2023 monologue that he was paid $500,000 for the gig. 

Regardless, the comedian reiterated that she was “alright” with her payday, not least because of the platform provided by an event like the Golden Globes. “This first year, when you’re just trying to prove yourself, I honestly would’ve done it for free,” Glaser said. “It’s an insane platform to be on. It’s not about the money for me.” Beyond Carmichael, details around the pay given to past hosts remain scarce, but five-time host (and fellow roaster) Ricky Gervais did reveal in 2020 that while “it’s not why I do it,” he was ultimately “paid well” for his now-infamous tenure.

It looks like the pay rise Glaser desires for future hosting gigs might just be on the horizon. While Glaser told Stern that the Golden Globes higher-ups haven’t formally invited her back for next year’s ceremony just yet, Deadline’s sources claim that execs are eager for the comedian to again take on hosting duties for the 83rd edition of the show. Whatever they paid her (Deadline reports $400,000), I’d argue that it simply wasn’t enough, since Glaser delivered one of the more successful hosting stints, up there with MC juggernauts like Amy Poehler and Tina Fey.

Granted, the bar was set pretty low in of Glaser’s predecessor, with the name Jo Koy now synonymous with terrible Barbie jokes and even more terrible Taylor Swift jokes. Despite that, Glaser left no celebrity roast unturned, taking swipes at everyone from Harrison Ford to Stanley Tucci (I’ll never look at olive oil the same way again) and Ariana Grande. It was pretty savage across the board, but Glaser told Stern that some even more diabolical jokes were cut from her monologue, including ones aimed at Alec Baldwin (for you know what), and one that compared Glen Powell to another famous Hit Man, Luigi Mangione. Yikes. 

Other notable moments from this year’s ceremony include Kieran Culkin’s win for A Real Pain, Vin Diesel’s name-dropping of Dwayne Johnson, Sofia Vergara’s hilarious heckling moment, and Andrew Garfield’s inducement of mass internet hysteria. Hey, that’s showbiz, baby!  

Demi Moore’s daughter Tallulah Willis has set the record straight after fans claimed that her mother purposely snubbed Kylie Jenner during this year’s Golden Globes ceremony. 

For context, onlookers were quick to suggest that Moore — who took home the Best Actress trophy for her role in The Substance — ignored Jenner while greeting the reality star’s tablemate, Elle Fanning. Clips of the interaction, which sees the actress gleefully hugging Fanning while seated next to Jenner  — who attended with her boyfriend and nominee, Timothée Chalamet — went viral on social media, with many presuming that Moore had snubbed the Kardashian sibling. Given Jenner’s reputation, Moore’s supposed snub was met with praise in some corners of the internet. 

“Idk why I love Kylie Jenner being ignored by Demi Moore,” one X wrote, with another adding that the interaction “has me in tears.” Much to their dismay, however, it turns out Moore’s presumed snub wasn’t that at all, at least according to the actress’ 30-year-old daughter. Responding to the fanfare on social media, Tallulah (whose father is Bruce Willis), took to her Instagram Stories to “[NIP] THIS STRAIGHT IN THE BUD.” She explained that the viral moment was captured right after Moore’s win, and added context by revealing that she and her mother had spent the New Year’s period with Fanning. 

“We spent new year with Elle, so connecting with her after a win was a very organic thing to do,” Tallulah wrote (per E! News). She added that her mother “was in total shock and delight and [was] moving throughout a warm room of well-wishers,” clarifying that “there was no snub of any sort.” Tallulah reiterated that “had [Moore] seen KJ wanting to congratulate her, she would have fully given her the time and space.” Putting the whole ordeal to bed with gracious aplomb, Tallulah encouraged everyone to “give it all a break and let a gal enjoy her accomplishments!”.   

While Talluaha squashed whatever beef the internet tried to inspire, it wouldn’t be the first time fans have reveled in a supposed snub against the Kardashians. Last year, a clip of Jenner’s older sister, Kim Kardashian, being ignored by Anna Wintour during Paris Fashion Week went viral with similar fervency, such is the internet’s incurable case of schadenfreude against the divisive reality TV family. 

While the Moore/Jenner interaction was attention-grabbing on its own, it didn’t dull the rapturous reaction to Moore’s win, with the actress delivering a rousing acceptance speech while touching on the feminist themes of her role in The Substance. She faced some pretty stiff competition, too, beating out the likes of Cytnhia Erivo (for Wicked), Amy Adams (for Nightbitch), and Zendaya (for Challengers). For his part, Chalamet — who has been dating Jenner since 2023 — was less successful, with his portrayal as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown not enough to clinch the victory from Adrien Brody for The Brutalist. 

Jenner’s non-snub was one of multiple talked-about moments from the glitzy ceremony, spearheaded by host Nikki Glaser’s hilarious opening monologue. Elsewhere, Vin Diesel gave an awkward shoutout to Dwayne Johnson, Sofia Vergara heckled Jodie Foster, and Andrew Garfield broke the algorithm through the simple act of putting on his reading glasses. Given how hard he’s been campaigning for an Oscar nod, we hope Chalamet was met with from his girlfriend and not an all-powerful snub.

Ricky Gervais is back for another round of celebrity roasting at the Golden Globes, but this time, it’s not in an official role. Ahead of the star-studded event, the English comedian took to X to share some of the jokes he would have included had he been hosting the ceremony instead of Nikki Glaser.

On Jan. 4, Gervais posted that he was sitting in his bath contemplating what he would say at the Golden Globes, adding that “it’s been a pretty good year for material.” Gervais, a Golden Globe awardee himself, has hosted the ceremony a total of five times, most recently in 2020. Though he swore off hosting again, that didn’t stop him from delivering some jokes — from the comfort of his bathroom.

“What a year it’s been. Hundreds of entertainers jumped at the chance to go to The Vatican to meet The Pope. Many from Hollywood. Obviously they weren’t content with only being part of the 2nd biggest pedo ring in the world,” he posted. In June 2024, the Vatican hosted over a hundred comedians from around the world, including Stephen Colbert, Chris Rock, Whoopi Goldberg, Conan O’Brien, and Jimmy Fallon, as the Pope emphasized the value of humor.

Justin Timberlake, with his DWI arrest in June, didn’t escape Gervais’ ribbing when he wrote in a post that “if he’d have gone to jail he’d have heard the words ‘Sexy Back’ a lot more often.” Gervais’ crosshairs also targeted Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, with an additional jab at Kevin Hart. “Kevin Hart said that being at one of Diddy’s parties was uncomfortable, as he wouldn’t leave him alone. Eventually he had to shout ‘Imma Midget, not a child,’” Gervais wrote.

Many asked the comedian to keep going, but that was the last of his social media hosting of the Golden Globes.

Will Ricky Gervais host the Golden Globes again?

Gervais’ hosting of the Golden Globes was characterized by his no-holds-barred roasting of Hollywood and not taking the glitz and glamor of the event seriously. It’s part of his style of comedy, saying that he hasn’t done his job if no one is offended. “You have to provoke! It’s a good thing. Learning provokes, science provokes, opinion provokes. Offense provokes,” he said in an interview with The Guardian in 2021.

Although many appreciate his humor, there are some who criticized him for his roasting. However, it doesn’t bother him, as he does it to entertain the audience, specifically the millions of people who watch at home who “aren’t winning awards” and “aren’t billionaires.” Despite some backlash, Robert DeNiro praised Gervais and called him to tell him he did a wonderful job. Gervais said some people were annoyed by his jokes, but DeNiro dismissed the criticism, saying, “F**k ‘em, they were jokes.”

After his 2020 Golden Globes hosting stint, Gervais said it would be his last. In an interview with LADBible, he said he requested the Golden Globes not to ask him again to avoid temptation, as he said he could be persuaded. “It could be the Golden Globes could offer me 10 million for 10 minutes work, you know, and I’d be an idiot, I’d be a liar, to say I wouldn’t consider it.” Although he was firm in his decision not to come back, he said, “You never know,” suggesting that the future isn’t set in stone.

We all understand the pain that comes with losing (I’ll never forget my pre-school relay race), which is what makes Sofia Vergara’s reaction to her loss at the Golden Globes so hilarious. 

The actress, who was nominated for Best Actress in a Limited Series for her role in Netflix’s Griselda, delivered one of multiple funny moments throughout this year’s awards ceremony, with the butt of her joke, Jodie Foster, appearing to take it in stride. Foster ultimately won the category for her portrayal of Liz Danvers in True Detective: Night Country, causing her to become the subject of Vergara’s mock heckle as she took to the stage to accept the award. 

“No, no give me one!,” the Modern Family star was heard yelling from the audience, with a crowd shot showing her smiling gleefully after crashing the acceptance speech. Thankfully, Foster seemed to understand the good-natured humor of it all, letting out a little chuckle as she gave a shoutout to her fellow nominee. “The greatest thing about being this age and being in this time is having a community of all these people,” Foster said, “especially you Sofia.” Vergara seemed chuffed with the mention and later warmly applauded Foster as she exited the stage.

Since there’s truth in every joke, it’s worth noting that at this point, Foster does have enough Golden Globes to make gifting them an option, having collected four Golden Globes and 10 nominations throughout her storied career, including for her iconic role in Silence of the Lambs. Heck, she even received the ceremony’s Cecil B. DeMille Award in 2013, which is not the name of a French recipe, but an accolade recognizing “outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment.” 

All those trophies are surely taking up space in Foster’s office, so why not bestow one to Vergara who, by comparison, has been nominated three times for Modern Family as well as this most recent Griselda nod. Granted, it was a pretty stacked category, with Foster and Vergara up against a swathe of A-listers so starry they warrant their own constellation. From Kate Winselt (for The Regime) to Cate Blanchett (for Disclaimer) and Naomi Watts (for Feud: Capote vs. the Swans), the category was yet more proof that TV productions must have better craft services than blockbuster movies.

The comedian and famed roaster delivered a hilarious monologue that took aim at the likes of Harrison Ford, Stanley Tucci (I’ll never look at olive oil the same again) and Hollywood’s true life source, Ozempic. Elsewhere, Ford and his Captain America: Brave New World co-star Anthony Mackie got tongues wagging with their awkward presenting slot, only to be outdone by Vin Diesel’s bizarre revival of a years-old beef with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson shortly followed by a Wicked-themed “tsk” heard round the world.

And then there was Andrew Garfield, who got people talking for, well… being Andrew Garfield. Some of the night’s big winners included Kieran Culkin for his role in A Real Pain as well as Emilia Perez for Best Musical or Comedy and a bunch of other awards. As the dust settled on another year of the Golden Globes (and on Foster’s countless trophies), I hope Vergara went to the after-party and snatched her fellow nominee’s trophy. But given that it was a win for True Detective, I imagine Foster would have been able to deduce its whereabouts pretty quickly.

Vin Diesel‘s appearance on stage at the Golden Globes mostly got people talking thanks to his catty “hey Dwayne” to The Rock, which hinted that the two Fast & Furious stars’ much-vaunted rivalry might not be as forgiven as we had been led to believe. Honestly, though, Vin seemed more keen to start some new beef than reheat an old one — forget Diesel vs. Dwayne, let’s talk Groot vs. Glinda.

The Guardians of the Galaxy star had the job of revealing the winner of the Outstanding Cinematic and Box Office Achievement category, and the distinct tutting sound he made before announcing that it was Wicked definitely didn’t go unnoticed by lovers of the barnstorming musical blockbuster. In case you missed the moment on the night, here it is.

Everyone knows it’s bad form to undercut someone’s well-earned win at an awards show — well, everyone but Kanye West at the MTV Awards in 2009 — so Diesel expressing his personal dislike of the Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo vehicle in this way is leaving fans fuming. One Wicked fan blasted him for being “unprofessional,” snapping, “lol what a loser.”

A word of warning, Vin: don’t anger the former theater kids. They are legion.

For those bitter that Wicked came out of the Golden Globes with crumbs, Diesel’s dismissive reaction was the final insult.

Vin must really hate Wicked, though. As one tweeter noted, “Why is Vin Diesel showing more emotion in his despise for #Wicked winning than in any of his movie appearances over the last 10 years">did she fly a car in space?”

Even so, showing the barest modicum of respect for the work of fellow artists during their big moment really isn’t too much to ask for. In fact, it’s the absolute minimum anyone hired to present at one of these events should offer. As Wicked itself preaches, we have much more in common than what separates us. Everyone in attendance at California’s Beverly Hilton on Sunday night was ionate about filmmaking and keeping cinema alive. They’re all on the same side, they’re all family. And to quote Vin Diesel’s own Dominic Toretto, it’s all about family.

Sebastian Stan took home the Golden Globe award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for his work on A Different Man. The movie tells the story of Edward, an aspiring actor suffering from a disfiguring facial condition called neurofibromatosis. He eventually undergoes surgery to change his appearance. When the procedure causes Edward to lose out on the role in an off-Broadway play based on his life, he becomes obsessed with the person who landed the part.

Although the film is billed as a black comedy, Stan made sure to draw attention to the stigma that often surrounds disabilities. “Our ignorance and discomfort around disability and disfigurement has to end now,” the actor said during his acceptance speech. “We have to normalize it and continue to expose ourselves to it – and our children. Encourage acceptance. One way we can do that is by continuing to champion stories that are inclusive.”

“This was not an easy movie to make,” Stan continued while giving a shout-out to his Donald Trump biopic, The Apprentice. “These are tough subject matters, but these films are real, and they’re necessary, and we can’t be afraid and look away. The actor went on to thank the film’s director, Aaron Schimberg, and his co-star, Adam Pearson, who suffers from neurofibromatosis in real life. He also shared his appreciation for the management team and agent.

Stan calling for inclusivity when it comes to disabilities is completely in line with his personality. The actor is well-known for being an all-around good guy who cares about those in need. Long before his fame skyrocketed, Stan used to spend time on social media (mostly Instagram) interacting with fans, offering advice, and giving pep talks to those who needed it. Sadly, the actor has since paused his online activity and only surfaces to promote his work.

Stan dedicated his first-ever Golden Globe win to his mom, Georgeta Orlovschi, who relocated to New York in the early ’90s. “This is for my mom, who left Romania in search of a better life [and] gave me everything,” he said. The actor also paid tribute to his stepdad, saying, “For my stepfather Tony, who took on a single mom and a grown-up kid. Thank you for being a real man.” And, in a rare instance of publicly acknowledging a romantic partner, Stan expressed his love for his girlfriend, Annabelle Wallis.

According to the Daily Mail UK, Wallis, who was super ive of Stan during the ceremony, looked stunning in a shimmering pink dress. However, the person who was most proud of the Golden Globe winner was his MCU co-star Anthony Mackie. The Captain America: Brave New World actor was visibly thrilled whenever he spotted Stan. During the post-awards show interviews, Mackie hinted at a Sam Wilson/Bucky Barnes reunion, saying, “Captain America and the Winter Soldier, we’re coming back.”

Stan will next be seen in the Marvel Studios film, Thunderbolts*. The movie, which also stars Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko, Lewis Pullman, Geraldine Viswanathan, Chris Bauer, Wendell Edward Pierce, Hannah John-Kamen, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, is directed by Jake Schreier from a script by Eric Pearson, Lee Sung Jin, and Joanna Calo. Per the official synopsis, “the story follows a group of antiheroes that go on missions for the government.”

Anya Taylor-Joy is the complete package. She’s very talented, has a knack for finding extremely interesting projects that showcase her range, and has an ethereal beauty. Unfortunately, as gorgeous as she is, her latest choice in outfit at the 2025 Golden Globes made her a target for the fashion police.

The actress knows how to deliver a head-turning look, and this one doesn’t miss the mark. However, compared to her previous risk-taking looks, her latest style wasn’t as eye-catching… Or at least not in a good way.

She was not nominated at the Golden Globes this year, but was there for a good time with her husband, musician Malcolm McRae, and to serve confidence and glam on the red carpet — even if her blush pink outfit couldn’t quite keep up with her.

Anya Taylor-Joy was all about glamour for her outing at the Golden Globes and everything she wore, as well as her makeup, hairstyle, and pose ed that. The A-list actress wore an archival Christian Dior satin stress that hugged her toned figure in all the right places. She accessorized with a large, floral-embroidered shawl she kept around her elbows and champagne Jimmy Choo Minny sandals.

Flowers were a major motif for the actress’s Golden Globes outfit, which doubled down on with her large silver floral necklace adorned with pink stones from Tiffany & Co., as well as a matching bracelet. She further accessorized her look with silver diamond stud earrings and continued the blush pink vibe with pink makeup, topping the look with a sleek, side-parted bun.

All pieces from the look were great on their own, and even the sculpture of the dress worked well for the old Hollywood glam Taylor-Joy was going for. The only problem was that the color she chose was not her best fit. With her fair complexion, as well as the pastel-floral back wall at the Golden Globes set in place for pictures, the blush tones and her white hair in a tight updo washed her out. The fashion police were begging for a splash of color.

“I love archival but something has to be made fresh about it. And where is Pat McGrath for the glam! Ditch the necklace, give me modern hair, idk what do i know,” said one celebrity fashion enthusiast.

“The color washout is too much,” noted a fan, with a different one adding, “She’s pink. The dress is pink. It’s just washing her out. I wanted to love this.” Another member of the fashion police highlighted that, “This color washes her out and the wrap was unnecessary.”

“I like the color, necklace & glam. That up close is [gorgeous]! Lose the shawl imo,” offered another.

While the blush color didn’t do much to highlight her exotic features, Anya Taylor-Joy truly loved the outfit, which she also kept when she went out to a Golden Globes after-party.

The star was photographed arriving at an after-party with Cara Delevingne, who switched her metallic blue Gucci halter dress to a black, more comfortable ensemble, and Zoe Kravitz, who also ditched her black and white glam Saint Laurent dress for a satin black gown. Anya Taylor-Joy kept the same outfit which she seems to have loved, and, really, that’s all that matters — even if she could benefit from a darker color next time.
