Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s long-anticipated team-up will undeniably be one of the events of the year. The overwhelmingly positive reception to the trailer should have Marvel feeling cautiously excited after a less-than-ideal 2023 marked by box-office disappointment and cast-related controversy.

Deadpool & Wolverine will be the two mutants’ first outing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe following their fan-favorite runs in 20th Century Fox‘s X-Men universe. The official synopsis teases a run-in between Wade Wilson and the Time Variance Authority (which we all got acquainted with during the two seasons of Disney Plus’ Loki). Marvel’s official Japanese website also apparently revealed that whatever Deadpool and Wolverine’s mission is, it could “change the history of the MCU.”

As always, Funko is expected to offer a selection of figures inspired by the characters in the film, but the first to be announced was, of course, the title duo.

The most popular Funko Pop! retailers like Amazon and the Funko website already have listings for the two new Wolverine and Deadpool collectibles, however, there’s no available option to buy or pre-order at this point. The official Funko store lists both figures for $12 with a banner saying “Coming Soon.” You can find Wolverine here and Deadpool here.

The Entertainment Earth website does allow visitors to pre-order the two Funko Pop!s for $11.99, and teases that they will become available only nearer the date of the film’s release in July.

In this special edition, Deadpool is sporting an updated suit and two swords, while his best frenemy is featured in all his full-clawed glory wearing the comic-accurate and fan-favorite yellow and blue suit, adorned with his trademark mask and white eyes.

Funko Games has announced another Five Nights at Freddy‘s tabletop game called Five Nights at Freddy’s Fightline. It is a collectible board game that introduces a fresh way to experience this indie horror franchise. At the moment, the Funko website lists only two products: a series 1 premier pack and a character pack.

While the instructions for “how to play” are not yet available, the game’s objective is to earn seven point tickets, using a team of animatronics at your disposal. Players will have the opportunity to select from 20 characters, including Purple Guy, Crying Child, Springtrap, and the core Five Nights at Freddy’s mascots – Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy.

“Team up with your favorite Five Nights At Freddy’s characters, including fan favorites from across the entire franchise. Build a team that can take down your opponent, spend Faz Coins to use character powers, and be the first to score 7 point tickets!”

Fightline is one of many tabletop games that Funko has released. In 2022, Five Nights At Freddy’s: Night of Frights was released, where the goal is to capture the security guard. It also introduced a card game in 2020 called Five Nights at Freddy’s Survive ‘Till 6 AM, a somewhat physical adaptation of the 2014 title.

Five Nights at Freddy’s has evolved from being an indie horror title in 2014 to becoming a sprawling franchise with a variety of products for fans to collect. The game has introduced numerous characters, a scattered narrative for fans to dissect, and an movie adaptation starring Josh Hutcherson and Matthew Lillard, set to premiere after years of success.

The starting price for this brand new Five Nights at Freddy’s installment will be $4.99 for the character packs, while the game itself will cost $19.99. Currently, the release date has yet to be announced, and pre-orders aren’t yet open on the Funko website.

Loki comes in different shapes and forms… literally. He was seen as a man, woman, child, and a crocodile even. But there is one form of Loki that we haven’t seen all that often, and with the help of Funko, this Loki appearance could finally get the appreciation it deserves.

Official pre-orders for an Entertainment Earth Exclusive glow-in-the-dark Frost Giant Loki Pop! Vinyl figure has opened. This iteration of Loki is a reference to the first Thor film, where he’s seen holding The Casket of the Ancients (which glows). The back of the box only has the movie logo for the first Thor film, with pretty much means that there are no other characters that will be part of this yet. This limited edition Funko Pop! Figure will be released on August 2023 and will cost $14.99.

This isn’t the first time Loki’s frost giant form was showcased in a Funko Figure. Loki’s frost giant form from Marvel Studio’s What If…? was also transformed into a Funko Vinyl bobblehead and was 5.25 inches tall, and is sadly out of stock on the Funko website. The What If…? Frost Giant Loki also appeared in Funko’s Vinyl Soda collectible.

Loki’s frost giant form isn’t something that’s seen as often in the MCU. It’s currently unknown if Loki’s original form will return to the MCU, especially in Loki season two. But if you want to see this God of Mischief in his frost Giant Form, both Thor and What If…? are available to stream on Disney Plus.

Natasha Romanoff was left unable to pick a side when Captain America: Civil War found the Avengers split in two over the Sokovia Accords, but that’s not a concern that affects Black Widow’s latest entry into Funko Pop! canon.

We Got This Covered can exclusively reveal that the company’s Black Widow figure from its latest collection is now available to pre-order on Amazon, for those either seeking to bolster their collection or recruit the elite operative on her lonesome. Black Panther, Hawkeye, and Vision have already been announced for the Captain America: Civil War collection, and there are still eight more to come to complete the 12-figure set in its entirety.

The miniature recreation of the longtime – and still sorely-missed – Marvel Cinematic Universe favorite is the latest unveiling to come from the third annual Funko Fair!, a three-week virtual event that returns today and on February 1, which provides plenty of updates and announcement regarding the slate of new collectibles to come from the pop culture staple.

Per Funko, the Amazon Exclusive Funko Pop! Marvel: Captain America: Civil War – Black Widow figure “can be displayed on its own or nested with other figures from the set,” but the completionists can either “assemble the complete battle or create your own unique scene by mixing and matching your favorite characters.”

The Captain America: Civil War collection will continue to be announced monthly and made available throughout 2023, with the vinyl bobblehead standing 4.8 inches tall and coming fixed to its base in a window display box. Johansson’s Phase One veteran may have made the ultimate sacrifice in Avengers: Endgame, but at least she’ll continue to endure in a Funko form derived from her appearance in one of the MCU’s finest installments.

Funko Pop vinyl figurines can be anything anyone wants them to be these days. Not only are there versions of celebrities and favorite characters throughout film and television, but a customer can even have a Funko avatar of themselves. Fun to have and fun to show off, but not fun for investors who are watching the stock plummet as TikTok is signaling its downfall like the fade of the Beanie Baby sensation.

As if Machine Gun Kelly himself summoned this conversation, one Funko fan says “Let’s talk about it.” In a Vox report, these neat little toys have been out since 2011 and that year they sold about 20 million worth of product. They’re not doing so well these days and it reminds people of the rise and fall of Beanie Babies which had a good run in the 90s but found a way to kill its own popularity by the end of the decade.

At one time back in 2018, the price of FNKO was almost $30. Today, it’s below $10 and dropping by the second which gives investors so much reason for concern. This TikTok report is putting everyone on alert, but some followers are just having fun with it because after all it’s a toy and when consumers take toys too seriously, things get ugly.

As one TikToker notes, Funko has a way of going overboard on how many versions of a character they make. If there’s a reason, a second or third version might be worth making. Consumers just don’t need a toy made for every clothing change and look an icon has.

Making another good point is a fellow TikToker who doesn’t see the need for everything walking or imaginable to be made into a squarehead vinyl figurine. Overkill at its best when a company has something good and shoves it down everyone’s throat rather than let consumers appreciate the rarity of certain items.

Seeing them on the shelves at stores like TJ Maxx, Ross, and Burlington is TikTok’s biggest Funko fan’s signal that the toy is on a serious downfall that it might not be able to bounce back. As he tours a store and looks at the merchandise on the shelves, he makes a few good points about how they’re treated and displayed. If they’re just haphazardly thrown in a box, the perceived value definitely drops.

This TikToker talks as if she expected this to happen. Not surprised at all, she lists that there are way too many variants and not everything in the world had to be made into a collector’s item. That beats the purpose of being a collector’s item.

Buy Funko for the fun of it, but at this time it’s not a good investment. Of course, the bears of investing are like a piranha when stocks fall. They love buying low and selling high. That’s all good, but will Funko ever bounce back?

Funko Pop! revealed its figures that will be part of the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever collection. And within that new set is a brand new MCU character that will make their debut in the film.

The Funko website revealed 10 new figures, which showed not only returning characters but also new ones, including Ironheart. And luckily for movie fans, the new collection did not spoil who will be taking over as the Black Panther. However, fans predict Shuri will take on the mantle as the new Black Panther, as hinted by her new purple suit.

Alongside the new Pop! Figures, Funko will also be releasing two keychains and t-shirts as part of the collection. Funko has not yet revealed the release date for these figures. But it’s more likely to hit store shelves once the film comes out later this year. The prices for these new merchandises have also not yet been made public.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is the sequel to the MCU film Black Panther, and it is shot in a way to tribute to the late actor, Chadwick Boseman, who ed away back in August 2020. The trailer for the film was released yesterday during Comic-Con 2022, alongside Kevin Feige’s MCU Phase five and six announcement.

The film will bring Letitia Wright as Shuri, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Angela Bassett as Ramonda, and Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia. But also ing them are Michaela Coel as Aneka, a combat instructor for the Dora Milaje, and Tenoch Huerta as Namor.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is set to be released in theaters on November 11, 2022.

Comic-Con is one of the most anticipated events in the nerd calendar, as the event is always full of big reveals and much-hyped previews. And no company embodies this more than Funko, as the company always brings some cool limited-run products to the event. And today, fans got an early preview of the DC figures that will be available at Comic-Con. 

According to the Hollywood Reporter, those who head to Funko’s sprawling Comic-Con booth will find an immersive re-creation of an idealized neighborhood that Funko has dubbed Funkoville. This area will feature a movie theater, diner, grocery store, and even an upmarket boutique themed to pop-culture apparel company Loungefly. 

The DC Comic-Con exclusives are varied this year. First is a unique Starfire figure, part of the POP Heroes line. This four-inch tall figure depicts the beloved DC heroine most known for her role in the Teen Titans. Thankfully, this figure will be restricted to one per household, which is likely a good decision as Starfire is one of DC’s most popular heroes, so she will likely be in high demand. 

The Vinyl Soda line will also have a Comic-Con exclusive figure. This figure will depict Larfleeze, the fan-favorite Green Lantern villain. Known for being the only member of the Orange Lantern Corps, who are powered by the emotion of greed, Larfleeze is a relatively recent addition to the Green Lantern mythos, making his debut in 2007. The Vinyl Soda figure is 4.1 inches tall and is glow-in-the-dark, making it stand out against other similar figures. Only 5,000 of these will be made, and one in six figures is a chase variant that features Larfleeze with the Orange Lantern power battery. This means you’ll have to be lucky if you want this variant, as there will only be around 800 of them available. Thankfully, to avoid any Orange Lantern-inspired issues, this figure, like Starfire, will be limited to one per household. 

The final figure revealed is part of the POP Rides series, which sees characters paired up with vehicles. The figure is part of the sub-series based on Tim Burton’s legendary 1992 film Batman Returns. It features the Penguin and his Duck Ride. The figure is about 6.14-inches, and it sees Danny DeVito’s version of the penguin riding in a giant rubber duck, complete with some actual penguins coming along for the ride, perfectly capturing the feeling of Burton’s legendary take on the Batman mythos. Unlike Starfire and Larfleeze, households will be able to get two of these figures each, making it slightly less limited than the others. 

No doubt, there will be other limited figures available at the event. However, these DC figures show just how varied the Funko line is. Comic-Con kicks off Thursday, July 21 and runs until Sunday, July 24. 

Almost 20 years since the Sanderson sisters first bewitched audiences, Hocus Pocus is finally getting a sequel this Halloween, with Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker all set to return as the witchy trio in a Disney Plus sequel. To celebrate the franchise rising from the grave like Billy Butcherson, Funko has confirmed its releasing a new Hocus Pocus set in its “Movie Moment” range, which restages iconic film scenes in Pop form.

As revealed as part of Funko’s Funkoween event, which previews what the toy company has got coming this October, fans can look forward to a Movie Moment set based on the legendary “I Put A Spell On You” musical number from the original 1993 flick. The set will include Pop figures of Winifred (Midler), Mary (Najimy), and Sarah (Parker) mounted on a black plinth representing a stage, with the latter two posed in front of microphones, just as they do in the movie.

The new Hocus Pocus Pop set is due out this fall, to coincide with the follow-up, but fans can pre-order it now for $39.99 via the link featured in the tweet below:

In addition to the Movie Moment set, Funko also announced a new Hocus Pocus card game called Trick and Wits. The premise of the game sees players having to work together to snatch the Sandersons’ evil spellbook once the sisters return to life once again. Tricks and Wits is for 2-4 players of age eight and up and retails for $8.99. You can pre-order that, too, via this link.

From director Anne Fletcher (The Proposal), Hocus Pocus likewise sees Doug Jones return as the aforementioned Billy the good zombie, with newcomers including Sam Richardson, Tony Hale, Whitney Peak, Lilia Buckingham, and Belissa Escobedo. Disney has yet to give it a specific release date, but we know it’ll definitely be here in time for All Hallow’s Eve 2022.

New Funko Pops reveal new and returning characters in the Marvel film, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Asides from Doctor Strange and Scarlett Witch, Wong will have his own figure made along with America Chavez and other new characters that will appear in the movie.

However, one of the figures that were revealed is a character from the Disney Plus animated series What If…?, with Strange Supreme being given his own figure within the Doctor Stange 2 collection. Importantly, this Doctor Strange variant now has a different outfit in comparison to his animated counterpart.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will bring back Doctor Strange to the big screen after his appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Returning with him is Wanda Romanov, with both characters set to explore the multiverse alongside new characters and potentially face off against Doctor Strange’s variant.

The film is set to come out on May 5, 2022, and these pop vinyl figures are now available for pre-order in select online stores.

As NFTs continue to be a polarizing topic across the net, Bob Ross fans are not happy with Funko’s recent decision to release limited edition digital pops of the iconic artist using NFT technology.

Funko will be releasing the NFTs through Droppp on Dec. 21, 2021, and the series will launch via packs, including five or 15 cards in each. For a five-card standard pack, buyers will pay $9.99, and for the 15 card pack, $29.99.

As is standard with most NFT projects, these are in limited supply, with only 24,000 standard packs available and 8,000 packs.

Funko announced this new release earlier today, and its announcement didn’t go over quite as well as they were likely expecting. Funko fans were quick to heap criticism on the company for their choice to use Bob Ross’s likeness to sell NFTs.

Many commenters pointed out that Ross wasn’t the only dead creator whose legacy is controversially selling NFTs today. For example, iconic Marvel creator Stan Lee also had a range of NFTs in his honor announced today. Similarly, fans of Lee weren’t so keen on the idea of that release either.

There were very few commenters sharing their excitement for this new Funko x Bob Ross release, with most of the comments calling the new release a mistake and claiming that it is disrespectful to Ross, who died in July 1995.

Despite the negative backlash, it appears Funko will continue with the release of these NFTs as planned.

Grogu is getting it all. As Star Wars‘ first Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade balloon, Baby Yoda will take a historic flight at tomorrow’s parade. But it isn’t Disney bringing the galaxy far, far away to the streets of Manhattan — it’s Funko. 

The company behind the vinyl bobblehead craze, Funk Pop’s iconic big-headed, wide-eyed collectibles of iconic characters from pop culture like Luke Skywalker or Alexander Hamilton first made their appearance just 11 years ago at 2010’s SDCC. “If there’s anything that epitomizes pop culture, it’s Funko Pops” says David Mebane, the Guinness world record holder of the largest collection of Funko Pop! figurines. His collection contains over 7,000 Pops. 

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade returns to its full capacity tomorrow after last year’s smaller affair. Today, Wednesday, Nov. 24, vaccinated crowds can watch the balloons inflate all afternoon at Central Park. The parade itself won’t have any vaccine requirements due to its large scale. The festivities begin at 9am.

Paul Southern, Senior VP of licensing at Lucasfilm, told the New York Times that Grogu’s balloon was well received at the Macy’s Balloonfest on Nov. 13, a test run for the inflatables. The balloon was Funko’s idea — the company having approached Macy’s and Lucasfilm. “We’re known for having one of the largest portfolios of licenses in the world, and it’s because we take our creative process and the integrity of our partners’ I.P. very seriously,” CEO Brian Mariotti says of the collaboration. Funko has previously made Star Wars collectibles and capitalized on that relationship to forge the collab.

There is, of course, a commemorative line of Pops and apparel, along with more The Mandalorian merchandise, available at the flagship Macy’s in Herald Square, Funko stores, and online.

By now, you’ve no doubt seen Funko Pop! Vinyls at retailers – most likely Hot Topic, where they dominate a good chunk of floor or wall space – and possibly own one yourself, or at least know somebody who can’t get enough of the cutesy interpretations of pop culture characters. This May, thanks to publisher IDW, Funko are set to take the leap into comics as part of “Funko Universe Month.” At first, I was wondering if they’d have to create original characters before getting the full details that came with the announcement, but luckily, they’re taking full advantage of some of the many popular franchises IDW has license to. As for which properties will get the treatment, readers can look forward to five one-shots that will give some of their favorite characters the small body, big head makeover: Ghostbusters, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The X-Files, Strawberry Shortcake and Judge Dredd. Not too shabby, eh? In addition to those, the following titles will the fun, too, as they’ll be granted Funko-themed variant covers: Back to the Future #20, Orphan Black: Deviations #3, Dirk Gently: The Salmon of Doubt #8, Star Trek: Boldly Go #8, The Powerpuff Girls: The Time Tie #1, Donald Duck #20, Mickey Mouse #20 and Walt Disney’s Comics & Stories #738.
