‘One Piece’ manga chapter release schedule 2023

On top of this, the manga has launched a giant franchise that features popular anime, a great live-action adaptation, several beloved films, and many well-reviewed video games. The original manga remains incredibly popular and the question remains: when does more One Piece come out? Here’s everything you need to know about the manga’s release schedule. 

How is One Piece released? 

One Piece is released via the manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump. The manga is considered a weekly title, so in theory, a new chapter is published in the magazine every week. Then, these chapters are collected into volumes which are then sold individually in stores.

However, while it is a weekly manga series, the manga doesn’t always release weekly. Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece, usually takes a one-week break every two weeks, giving him time to rest or handle other creative endeavors. Oda will also occasionally take longer breaks to plan  One Piece arcs or work on other projects, like when he worked on the live-action series. Miraculously, he even took a vacation one time, many moons ago.

When does Weekly Shōnen Jump come out? 

In Japan, Weekly Shōnen Jump arrives on store shelves every Monday. Viz Media updates its app and website with the newest chapters on Sundays at around 10:00 a.m. Eastern. So American readers get the chapters at around midnight on Monday, Japan time. 

The schedule for the rest of 2023

The chapters are normally released at 8 a.m. Pacific Time or 11 a.m. Eastern Time, and the current One Piece schedule for the rest of 2023 is:

• November 6 – Chapter 1097
• November 13 – No Chapter [Oda is on a break]
• November 20 – Chapter 1098
• November 27 – Chapter 1099

the Japanese schedule falls a week behind the Weekly Shonen Jump issue here in the West, so be aware that fan translations arrive the week before. Run away from spoilers like the plague!
